Tree to 15m. Flowers creamy white,March to May. Attractive rough bark with reddish blotches. It grows on plains and low stony hills. Can be used as an indicator of soils with a moderate level of available phosphorus.

Tree 15 – 20m. Flowers cream, February to April. It grows on hills, slopes and flats but prefers sandy soils.

Useful as a timber for posts and is a good firewood. Aborigines used the gum for making medicine.
