Silvery Weeping Teatree

Tall weeping tree 10 to 20m. Flowers are greenish cream in July to October. It grows along banks of creeks and rivers. Looks very similar to M. leucadendra.

Black Teatree

Shrub to 5m. Flowers are small creamy brushes in August to November. It grows along creek banks. Attracts insects. Timber is durable and useful for posts and poles. Oil is used to increase the potency of some insecticides.

Weeping Teatree

Tree 20 to 30m. Flowers are greenish-cream brushes between May and September. It grows along watercourses in deep sand or sandy loam. Looks very similar to M. argentea. Aborigines used the bark for a variety of purposes including bedding and shelters. Timber is used for posts, poles and bush constructions.

Tall shrub 3 to 7m. Flowers are creamy yellow or greenish March to August. It grows on banks of creeks and streams on clay and loam soils. Not very common around Mount Isa area.

Butterfly Bush

Shrub to 1.5m. Flowers yellow with red 'eyebrow' on upper petal, Jul - Sept. Best examples are on creek flats. Good garden shrub but fairly short lived

Limestone Cassia

Shrub 1 to 1.5m and about 1.5m wide. Flowers are yellow, open-petalled May to August. It grows on flat stony, limestone country in Eucalyptus-Spinifex open woodland. It is the most common Senna in the area.
